French packaging group Albea agrees 12-MWp solar off-take deal
Sep 19, 2024 5:38 CESTGerman energy group RWE AG (ETR:RWE) has entered into a strategic partnership with agricultural photovoltaics (Agri-PV) developer Sun’Agri to work on new Agri-PV projects across France.
Sun’Agri offers a system that combines on one plot of land crops and dynamic PV panels that are controlled in real time using complex algorithms and agronomic models. Its patented technology has already been implemented on more than twenty farms in France with other projects underway internationally.
The two companies will seek to accelerate the development of agri-PV in France and operationally support the deployment of integrated solutions for growing fruit, vegetables and wine, a press release said on Monday.
Strong cooperation with players in the agricultural sector will play an important part in forging ahead with the implementation of solar projects. Agri-PV is an integrated part of the RWE Group’s strategy in France,” commented Katja Wuenschel, CEO of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia.
Founded in 2009, Sun’Agri is headquartered in Lyon, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes. It counts among its scientific partners French public research institute INRAE and agricultural research company itk.
“Together, we aim to create a strong synergy between agriculture and green electricity production. This collaboration is in perfect harmony with our CSR policy and we will intensify our impact by combining our expertise,” said Sun’Agri director Cecile Magherini.
