Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTEngineering and construction group SAF has delayed the USD-2.2-million (EUR 1.8m) order it made in August for Verditek’s (LON:VDTK) lightweight solar panels because the COVID-19 pandemic is obstructing its latest Pakistani project.
Verditek was contracted to supply six containerised ultra-lightweight solar power matts totalling 1.5 MW. When the order is recommenced, which is expected to happen next year, the company will deliver the panels as an easily deployable containerised solution to provide temporary and semi-permanent power.
In a statement announcing the delay, Verditek said that SAF International’s customer, the Sindh regional government, has had to divert resources to deal with the pandemic. According to it, SAF has expressed satisfaction with a previously executed order.
“Whilst Verditek has experienced similar delays from other prospects as a result of the second wave of COVID-19 and general economic uncertainty, the Board remains confident that a strong market exists for its products,” the company concluded.
