Sany Renewable Energy Co Ltd has secured a total of 1.6 GW of wind turbine orders from two customers in India, marking a significant expansion for the Chinese wind turbine maker in the Indian market.

In a Linkedin post on Monday, the company said it has recently signed wind turbine sales contracts for a total of 1,324 MW with three subsidiaries of Indian conglomerate JSW Group. In addition, a 300-MW deal has been signed with the Indian subsidiary of Sembcorp Ltd.

Sany Renewable Energy recently unveiled a test bench for turbines of up to 35 MW. Earlier this month, it also announced the installation of a 15-MW onshore wind turbine.

Sany was among the top 10 wind turbines suppliers in 2023 along with a number of manufacturers from China.
