Oslo-based Scatec Solar ASA (OSL:SSO) has won three projects totalling 360 MW in Tunisia’s international tender from earlier this year.

Specifically, the Norwegian company will build, operate and maintain two 60-MW solar parks in Tozeur and Sidi Bouzid, as well as a 240-MW plant in Tataouine. Scatec Solar noted it will be the lead equity investor in the projects.

The three solar farms, together, will generate some 830 GWh of electricity per year, which will be enough to meet the annual consumption of over 300,000 local homes. They will sell their output to Societe Tunisienne de l’Electricite et du Gaz (STEG) under 20-year power purchase agreements (PPAs).

In July it was unveiled that Scatec Solar made a bid of USD 0.0244 (EUR 0.022) per kWh, a record low for all of Africa, targeting 200 MW of solar power capacity in Tunisia.
