British investment manager Schroders Greencoat LLP has acquired a 28.5-MW solar park near Dorset, southwestern England, from compatriot Innova and its joint venture partner Will Bond.

The deal was carried out by a UK flagship private markets fund managed by Schroders Greencoat, the investment manager said on Wednesday. The value of its purchase was kept under wraps.

The Stokeford solar farm is located near Wareham and was switched on at the end of July. The project was granted planning permission in February 2021 and was awarded a Contract for Different (CFDs) by the UK government in the following year.

The photovoltaic (PV) park uses a shared grid connection with the 8-MW Alaska wind farm.

“This acquisition is the latest in our partnership with Innova, which has now seen four projects transacted, as we work together towards our ambition of meeting the UK’s demand for clean affordable energy, and the Government’s target of 70 GW of solar capacity by 2035,” said Matt Tingle, Investment Director at Schroders Greencoat.
