Sentiment in German renewable industry improves in Jun

Jul 10, 2013 - Germany's renewable sector morale brightened in June as companies grew more optimistic about the development of exports in the second half of 2013.

The business climate index for the renewable energy industry, compiled by German sector researcher Internationales Wirtschaftsforum Regenerative Energien (IWR), grew to 94.1 points in June from 86.5 points in May, IWR said on Tuesday.

Despite the improvement, the index is still below the 100-point threshold, separating pessimism from optimism. The sentiment has not moved above the 100-point mark since the autumn of 2011.

The index, which was launched in 2004, is based on interviews with companies in the green energy sector about their assessment of the current situation and expectations about the next six months.
