Serbia’s first renewable energy auction has attracted 16 bidders with projects totalling 816.48 MW, of which 602.8 MW of capacity was submitted to participate in the competition, the energy ministry said on Wednesday.

Eleven projects were qualified for the bidding. These include eight wind bids totalling 519.1 MW, which exceeds the 400-MW wind power quota in the auction.

The three qualified solar bids represent 11.6 MW of capacity, compared to a 50-MW quota.

The lowest offered price for wind was EUR 64.48 (USD 70.28) per MWh, while for solar the lowest bid was EUR 88.65 per MWh.

Energy minister Dubravka Dedovic expressed satisfaction with the investor response. “The achieved prices for the majority of the capacity are almost double the current market prices, giving us plenty of reasons to be content, especially since we will receive an additional 550 MW, effectively doubling the total current green energy capacities in Serbia,” she said.

Serbia launched the auction in June, offering to award contracts for difference (CfDs) for 400 MW of wind and 50 MW of solar power.

The qualified bids are in the table below:

Bidder Project Technology Capacity offered (MW) Total capacity (MW)
Vetropark Lipar Kula 3 wind 7 10
Vetropark Torak Kula 2 wind 7 10
Vetropark Lipar Kula 4 wind 7 10
MK-Fintel Wind Ram wind 6.6 9
Cibuk 2 Wind Energy Cibuk 2 wind 108.5 150
Vetrozelena Vetrozelena wind 210 291
Crni Vrh Power Crni vrh wind 105 150
Enlight K2-Wind Pupin wind 68 95.5
Terra Solar IMT Knjazevac solar 1.2 1.5
Novo Selo Power

Lebane – Novo Selo

solar 6.4 8
Hiperion Sol Margisol solar 4 4

According to a ranking published here https://oieaukcije.mre.gov.rs/, the 400-MW wind quota was allocated among the Vetrozelena, Enlight K2-Wind and Cibuk 2 proposals, and partially to Crni Vrh Power.
