Serbian Govt Subsidises New Jobs at Fresenius Medical Care, Serbita Shoes

BELGRADE (Serbia), December 15 (SeeNews) – The Serbian government said it is providing subsidies to Germany’s Fresenius Medical Care and Italian-owned Serbita Shoes to open 651 new jobs in the city of Vrsac.

Fresenius Medical Care will spend 24 million euro ($31.2 million) to expand its capacity for the production of medical devices and will hire 551 new workers, Serbian government said on Wednesday.

Serbita Shoes will invest some 600,000 euro in equipment for its women's footwear factory and will open 100 new jobs.

The amount of the subsidies was not disclosed.

The financial aid is part of a government programme in support of foreign direct investments.
