Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTBELGRADE (Serbia), August 31 (SeeNews) – Serbian wireless carrier Vip Mobile said on Wednesday it put into operation its first hybrid-powered base station at Rajcevo brdo, near Begaljica.
The electric power required for the functioning of every mobile telephony transmitter is derived from converting solar and wind energy, Vip Mobile said in a statement on its website
The launch of the base station, the first in a series of such planned deployments, helped resolve the problem of providing signal coverage in a distant and difficult to access location without a power grid, the statement said.
The hybrid system consists of three basic components: solar panels, a wind generator and a storage container for batteries and other telecommunication equipment.
Vip Mobile (www.vipmobile.rs) is part of Telekom Austria Group.
