Australia puts green tick on 300-MW solar project in Queensland
Sep 20, 2024 6:04 CESTJapanese company Sharp Corp (TYO:6753) said today it has reached an agreement with Solar Power International LLC and Shigemitsu Shoji Co Ltd for the construction of a 10-MW PV project in Darkhan, Mongolia.
Construction works will begin later this month, while the park is to enter commercial operations in December, Sharp stated in the press release. The plant is expected to generate 14,182 MWh per year, which is enough to offset around 14,746 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
Sharp will be the supplier of solar modules, mounting structures and other components, such as the inverters. The Japanese giant will also be in charge of the design and engineering services. Shigemitsu Shoji will support the joint management and operation of the plant for the next 25 years.
Shigemitsu Shoji is a Japanese trading company while Solar Power International is Mongolian based.
