Japanese renewables developer Shizen Energy Inc has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) under which it will install an off-site solar power plant with a capacity of 2.75 MW/3.85 MWp on Hokkaido island.

The customer is Japan's Dynax Corporation, a manufacturer of drivetrain components for automobiles and construction machinery. All of the clean electricity generated will be supplied to Dynax’s plant in Tomakomai city.

Construction is scheduled to commence next month with power generation set to begin in November 2023.

The photovoltaic (PV) plant will cover 63,721 square meters (685,887 sq ft) in the Tomakomai Eastern Area, the largest industrial area in Japan.

In addition to the implementation of the PV parks, Shizen Energy will manage the supply and demand of power, as well as provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services.
