Solarvest lands USD-26m solar EPCC job in Malaysia, posts profit bump
Sep 03, 2024 8:58 CESTJapanese Shizen Energy has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Terengganu Incorporated Sdn Bhd for the development of solar power in Malaysia's Terengganu state.
The cooperation agreement concerns the co-development of ground-mounted solar power projects. Terengganu Inc is the investment holding company on behalf of the state government.
No further details about the solar projects or the deal were disclosed in the press statement.
"With the signing of this MoU, Terengganu Inc is optimistic that this collaboration will fulfill the aspiration to explore the potential of new ground-mounted solar, thereby enhancing state revenue through the green economy", stated Burhanuddin Hilmi Mohamed, President and CEO of Terengganu Inc.
Hiroki Koga, Representative Director of Shizen International, noted that this MoU underscores the company's commitment to expanding renewable energy in Malaysia while helping Terengganu Inc achieve its ESG target of 35% renewable energy capacity mix by 2025.
