Uniper delays EUR 8bn investment plan amid weak hydrogen demand
Nov 08, 2024 15:04 CESTNov 22, 2012 - German Global Tech I wind farm said on Wednesday it awarded the construction of ten out of the 40 foundations for offshore wind turbines to insolvent offshore wind turbine equipment supplier Siag Nordseewerke.
Global Tech I added that it is looking for a third partner, which will be responsible for the delivery of up to ten tripod foundations. Thus, Siag Nordseewerke may receive further orders from Global Tech.
The contract is a very important step towards the rescue of insolvent Siag Nordseewerke, Heinz-Guenter Schaefer, deputy chairman of the works council, explained.
Production in the plant in Emden will continue until the end of the current year in view of the new order. What is more, Siag Nordseewerke may be able to continue work in the coming year if the contract is extended.
Siag Nordseewerke filed for insolvency on October 17, 2012. The company‘s hopes for survival are that the contract is extended or an investor is found.
