Singapore-based renewables developer Gurin Energy has taken the final investment decision (FID) on a 39-MWp solar project in the Philippines, the firm said on Friday.

The Pan-Asian developer previously secured a 40-hectare (98.8 acres) site for the ground-mounted project, called Capas, through a 25-year lease agreement with the Philippines’ Bases Conversion and Development Authority.

The solar farm will be located in the municipality of Capas in Tarlac province.

Capas is Gurin Energy's second solar project in the Philippines. The company is currently building the 75-MW Palauig solar plant in Zambales province.

Gurin Energy says it has 1 GW of projects in the Philippine pipeline and a total of 7 GW in various stages of development in Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and the Philippines.
