German developer Skyborn Renewables on Wednesday said that it has launched seabed surveys for its proposed Pooki offshore wind project in Finland which has the potential to accommodate over 2 GW.

Skyborn was granted rights to develop the scheme in the Finnish territorial waters of the Bothnian Sea in July 2023. Last month, it started environmental studies at the site.

The seabed study is carried out by environmental, geophysical and geotechnical surveys expert MEWO and will continue throughout 2024. The collected data will be used for technical planning and the upcoming environmental impact assessment (EIA) process.
