Slovakia not ready for additional solar, wind capacity - report

Dec 19, 2012 - According to a recent study by the Slovak Technical University, the country is not ready to install new wind and solar power facilities, SITA news agency reported.

The study, intended for the Slovak Electricity Transmission System (SEPS), shows that Slovakia will have to boost the network’s transmission capacity in order to increase its renewable energy installations.

Data also shows that the rising renewable capacity can have a negative effect on the current system.
