Slovenia's net electricity production declined 11% on the month to 1,168 GWh in February, while total electricity consumption decreased by 14% reaching 1,169 GWh, the country's statistical office said on Monday.

On a monthly comparison basis, Slovenia's hydropower plants generated 27% more electricity than in January, the output of thermal power plants decreased by 22% and that of nuclear power plants decreased by 14%, the statistical office said, citing provisional data.

In line with the lower production in thermal power plants, fuel consumption in February also decreased by 23%.

Slovenia imported 653 GWh of electricity in February and exported 624 GWh.
