Slovenia's net electricity production decreased 9% month-on-month to 1,252 GWh in October, while total electricity consumption rose 4% to 1,206 GWh, the country's statistical office said on Monday.

Hydro power plants' output decreased by 38%, the output of thermal power plants increased by 18%, while electricity production of Slovenia's sole nuclear power plant increased by 5%, the statistical office said, citing provisional data.

In line with the higher production in thermal power plants, fuel consumption in October 2017 also increased by 18%.

In October, 843 GWh of electricity was imported and 850 GWh was exported.
