Slovenia's net electricity production decreased 28% month-on-month to 1,027 GWh in April, while total electricity consumption fell 15% to 1,137 GWh, the country's statistical office said on Friday.

Hydro power plants generated 54% more electricity, while the production of thermal power plants decreased by 27%. There was no production at the sole nuclear power plant, Krsko, due to a regular technical refit in April, the statistic agency said citing provisional data.

In line with the lower production in thermal power plants, fuel consumption in April also decreased by 31%.

In April 2018, 852 GWh of electricity was imported and 710 GWh was exported.
