Elektro Ljubljana banks EUR-50m EIB loan for grid expansion, upgrade
Sep 02, 2024 15:52 CESTLJUBLJANA (Slovenia), January 27 (SeeNews) – Slovenia's net electricity production decreased by 4% month-on-month to 1,473 GWh in December, while total electricity consumption rose by 4% to 1,242 GWh, the statistical office said on Monday.
The December output of the country's hydro power plants decreased by 15% on a monthly comparison basis, the output of the thermal power plants rose by 3%, while the electricity production of Slovenia's sole nuclear power plant, Krsko, grew by 4% as compared to the November level, the office of statistics said in a statement, citing provisional data.
In line with the higher production in thermal power plants, fuel consumption in December 2019 also increased by 19%.
In December 2019, 626 GWh of electricity was imported and 820 GWh was exported. Import increased by 14% compared to the previous month, while export decreased by 3%.
Hydro power plants had the largest share of 36.4% in the total power production in December, followed by nuclear energy with 34.9%, thermal energy with 27.6% and solar with 1.1%.
