Slovenia's net electricity production increased 30% month-on-month to 1,330 GWh in May, while total electricity consumption rose 4% to 1,176 GWh, the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.

Hydro power plants generation remained relatively unchanged on the month, while the production of thermal power plants decreased by 46%. Production at the sole nuclear power plant, Krsko, was restarted in May following a regular technical refit in April, the statistic agency said citing provisional data.

In line with the lower production in thermal power plants, fuel consumption in May 2018 also decreased by 38%.

In May 2018, 788 GWh of electricity was imported and 903 GWh was exported.
