Slovenian energy services provider Resalta has signed an agreement with Fraport Slovenija to install a 500 kW photovoltaic (PV) plant on the rooftop of Ljubljana airport's main garage building, it said.

The photovoltaic plant will be fully installed in 2021 and will generate 500 MWh of electricity from renewable sources at Ljubljana Joze Pucnik Airport for direct on-site consumption, Resalta said in a statement on Tuesday.

The facility will provide 10% of the airport’s electricity consumption, improving its sustainability and reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 250 tonnes each year, Resalta said.

So far, Resalta has completed about 260 energy projects for 180 clients.
