Australia puts green tick on 300-MW solar project in Queensland
Sep 20, 2024 6:04 CESTGerman inverter maker SMA Solar Technology (ETR:S92) announced today it has secured an order for the supply of inverters and grid connection equipment for a 50-MW PV project in Myanmar.
More specifically, the contract is for 21 pieces of the MV Power Station 2000SC, a turnkey system solution combining two Sunny Central 1000SC-XT inverters and a solution for the grid connection.
The plant, touted as the largest solar power plant in the country, is located in Minbu in the north. Once operational, which is expected to happen in the spring of 2019, the solar park is expected to generate about 87 million kWh of clean solar power annually, which would be enough to meet the demand of about 20,000 Myanmar households.
According to John Susa, Executive Vice President of SMA Sales North America and APAC, the inverters are particularly suitable for the climatic conditions in the area as they can perform under high temperatures. "Our Sunny Central inverters can address the demand with full nominal power in continuous operation at ambient temperature up to 40 °C," Susa said.
