World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTMar 13, 2013 - German firm SMA Solar Technology (ETR:S92) and local heating and cooling equipment manufacturer Vaillant GmbH plan to develop a system for efficient energy management under a newly signed cooperation agreement.
The system will help households optimise the share of self-generated electricity against total electricity consumption, Vaillant said today. Thanks to better coordination between electricity and heat production, property owners will benefit from their on-site photovoltaic facilities in the best possible way, despite the sinking feed-in tariffs.
With the amendment of Germany's renewable energy act in May 2012 the profitability of photovoltaic plants has become largely dependent on the volume of own consumption. This means that private operators will have higher benefits, if they make higher use of their self-generated electricity.
