The share indices of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) ended in negative territory on Thursday amid higher turnover, bourse data indicated.

The blue-chip SOFIX index, which tracks the 15 most liquid shares on the Sofia bourse, fell 0.36% to 445.41 points after ending 0.57% lower on Wednesday.

The broader BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares, lost 0.68% to 88.00 points after decreasing by 0.50% in the previous trading session.

Turnover on the Bulgarian regulated market rose to 496,000 levs ($286,900/253,600 euro) from 1.3 million levs on Wednesday.

Car battery manufacturer MonBat [BUL:5MB] was the most traded blue-chip company on Thursday with 5,352 shares changing hands at an average price of 7.136 levs per share.

Resort operator Albena [BUL:6AB] was the top SOFIX gainer, rising 2.30% to 49 levs, as 5,200 shares changed hands.

Diversified conglomerate Holding Varna [BUL:5V2] led the blue-chip decliners. It fell 4.76% to 20 levs as 150 shares changed hands.

The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of the real estate investment trusts, closed down 0.08% at 95.32 points after closing down 0.29% in the previous session.

The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, fell 0.94% to 364.35points. A day earlier it closed down 0.63%.
