Sofia bourse stock indices end mostly higher, turnover jumps

SOFIA (Bulgaria), November 6 (SeeNews) – The stock exchange indices on the Sofia bourse ended mostly higher on Thursday while turnover on the regulated market jumped, bourse data indicated.

The blue-chip SOFIX index, which tracks the 15 most liquid shares on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE), closed 1.64% higher at 527.27 points after rising 0.22% in the previous session.

The broader BGBX40, which includes the 40 most traded shares, was up 1.44% to 105.52 points after closing 0.13% lower on Wednesday.

Turnover on the regulated market jumped to 5.3 million levs ($3.4 million/2.7 million euro) from 62,872 levs a day earlier. A total of 10,000,000 shares, equivalent to a stake of 1.8% in renewable energy company Energoni [BUL:2EL] traded on the Sofia stock exchange in only one transaction at a price of 0.001 levs apiece.

Industrial Holding Bulgaria [BUL:4ID] was the top SOFIX gainer, closing 13.86% higher at 1.15 levs as 5,676 shares changed hands.

Car battery producer MonBat [BUL:5MB] was the top blue-chip decliner, ending 0.49% lower at 8.299 levs in a volume of 590,620 shares.

The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of the real estate investment trusts, lost 0.16% to 96.51 points after adding 0.15% on Wednesday.

The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, went up by 1.41% to 411.39 points after falling 0.05% in the previous session.
