Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTNigerian farming community Rokota in the Niger State welcomed last week the commissioning of a hybrid mini-grid with 64 kW of total solar power capacity and 360 kWh of battery storage.
The new power plant was delivered by Nairobi-based mini-grid developer PowerGen Renewable Energy, which this October signed a grant agreement under the Nigeria Electrification Project (NEP) programme to deploy the mini-grid.
The project was supported by the Nigerian Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and the World Bank, which co-funds the NEP with the African Development Bank.
REA said in a media statement that the mini-grid solution will provide clean and reliable electricity to around 3,000 residents of the Rokota community.
