US rooftop solar installer SolarCity Corp (NASDAQ:SCTY) intends to hire at least 300 new workers this year in line with an expansion of its corporate head office.

SolarCity will manage its business from a new site in Roseville, California, it said in a statement on Friday, adding that it already provides jobs to over 450 people at that location. The new additions to the solar firm’s sales team will expand its local workforce by 65%.

The Roseville headquarters was officially opened on Friday, while a job fair was organised on Saturday. The premises will accommodate most of SolarCity’s national inside sales team as well as workers from five disparate offices.

SolarCity’s personnel currently exceeds 10,000 people. The company, which offers homeowners to go solar without incurring any upfront costs, expects to deploy between 920 MW and 1,000 MW of solar capacity this year, it said in February.
