World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTPhotovoltaic (PV) inverters supplier SolarEdge Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:SEDG) has filed three patent infringement lawsuits in China against Huawei Technologies Co Ltd.
SolarEdge claims that the Chinese company has used its patented technology without authorisation. With the lawsuits it filed in the regional courts of Jinan and Shenzhen, the plaintiff seeks damages and an injunction, a Monday press statement says.
Over the summer of 2018, SolarEdge also filed lawsuits in Germany against Huawei Technologies Co Ltd, German firm Huawei Technologies Duesseldorf GmbH and local distributor Wattkraft Solar GmbH. It considers filing even more actions to protect its patents, the company noted.
“SolarEdge spends considerable time and resources on developing innovative technology and this investment needs to be protected,” said Zvi Lando, acting CEO and VP Global Sales of SolarEdge.
