Solaria narrows loss by 54% in H1 2013

Sep 3, 2013 - Spanish solar panel maker Solaria Energia y Medio Ambiente (MCE:SLR) narrowed its loss by 54% year-on-year to EUR 3 million (USD 4m) in the first half of 2013, the company said on Friday.

Revenues came in at EUR 33.4 million, up 43% on the year, thanks to Solaria's performance abroad. Sales outside Spain jumped by 85% to EUR 26.6 million in the six-month period.

The earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) soared by 50% to EUR 6.2 million. The main foreign market for Solaria was the European Union (EU), which generated 71% of its revenue. Latin America came next with a 28% share.
