Sep 19, 2024 13:49 CESTFeb 10, 2012 - US residential and commercial solar systems provider SolarMax Technology Inc unveiled on Thursday the completion of a 756-kW solar carport facility at the Wyndham Mt Laurel Hotel in the US state of New Jersey.
The solar project included the installation of 3,150 solar panels on 12 carports. Together, the systems are estimated to produce 850,945 kWh per year, saving 725.7 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
SolarMax will own the solar carport facility and sell the produced power to the hotel at predetermined prices under a 15-year power purchase agreement. The system is to cut by 67% the hotel's energy bills, SolarMax added.
At present, the solar power firm is building a number of solar carports across New Jersey with a combined capacity of over 6 MW, it said.
