Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTSeven solar projects in Zimbabwe with a total capacity of 66.6 MW are expected to become operational by the end of 2021, according to the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA).
The seven projects, which are in an advanced stage of construction, were included in a list of licensed independent power producers released by the regulator.
The biggest facility in the list is a 25-MW solar farm being constructed in Mizpah-Chidobe, Hwange District, the Matebeleland North province by Power Ventures Private Limited. Meanwhile, Harava Solar Park is building a 20-MW facility in Seke, the Mashonaland East provice.
The list also includes three solar farms of 5 MW each, one installation of 5.5 MW and one of 0.6 MW. All facilities except one have licences for 25 years.
Also, all but one plant will operate under power purchase agreements (PPAs) with a utility. The one 0.6-MW scheme will produce power for own consumption and export the surplus under a PPA, ZERA lists shows.
