Romania's CIS Group to build 23-MW solar park at home
Sep 19, 2024 9:59 CESTGermany's Soventix plans to connect to the grid three solar power parks with a combined capacity of 9.1 megawatt peak (MWp) in Romania by the end of the year, it said on Friday.
The projects require an investment of 16.2 million euro ($21.9 million). Soventix is investing only in two of them, while building the biggest one, the Christuru park, for another company, Soventix CEO Thorsten Preugschas told SeeNews.
Construction works on the 4.5 MWp Christuru 1 park, located in the central county of Harghita, are expected to commence in October and will require an investment of 8.0 million euro.
The investment for the 2.1 MWp Cuci park, which is currently under construction, amounts to 3.7 million euro. Cuci is located in the central county of Mures.
Works on the 2.5 MWp Sannicolau Mare project, worth 4.5 million euro, are expected to start shortly. Sannicolau Mare is in the western county of Timis.
The developer also plans a second phase of the Christuru project, Christuru 2, and expects to hook to the grid the 4.8 MWp park in the second quarter of 2014. Works for the second phase should start in the first quarter of 2014 and the project's cost is estimated at 8.0 million euro.
Soventix also intends to build a 120 million euro 105 MWp solar park in Liebling, in the western county of Timis. Another project, with an installed capacity of 29.5 MWp, is ready to be built in Gura Ocnitei, in the southern Dambovita county, but still needs an investor.
The company's cumulative capacity in Romania stood at 30 megawatts at the end of 2012.
Headquartered in Germany, the solar projects developer is also active in Canada, the U.S., South Africa, the UK and Ukraine.
