Spanish renewables developer Grupo Ecoener SAU (BME:ENER) said on Friday it had signed two power purchase agreements (PPAs) for 96 MWp of solar projects it developed in the Dominican Republic.

The company, through local unit EFD Ecoener Fotovoltaica Dominicana SRL, signed the agreements with Dominican power distributor and provider Edeeste, which will off-take some 192 GWh per year from Ecoener’s solar farms in La Romana province.

The PPAs will run for 15 years. Ecoener expects the agreements to bring it revenues of USD 17 million per year (EUR 16.1m), it said.

The contracted electricity will be generated by the 60-MWp Cumayasa I and the 36-MWp Cumayasa II solar farms. Ecoener signed definitive concessions for these projects in November and December last year.

The power supply is due to commence on December 1, 2023.
