Spain's Ence appoints new CEO for renewables arm

Spanish pulp producer and energy group Ence - Energia y Celulosa SA (BME:ENC) announced today that Marc Gomez will be the new CEO of the company’s renewable energy unit, Ence Energia.

Gomez will succeed Felipe Torroba, who will continue in a position in the finance department, with involvement in the field of mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

Prior to this new appointment, Gomez acted as the president and CEO of the Spanish unit of ABB Ltd (SWX:ABBN).

Ence said that the appointment of the new CEO comes at a time when the company focuses on investing in renewables, including in biomass and solar photovoltaic (PV) generation.
