Colombia's ANLA gets mandate to license renewables starting at 50 MW
Sep 17, 2024 12:44 CESTSpanish renewables firm Solarpack has promoted Jose Luis Garcia Perez to CEO of its Latin America business unit to beef up its position in the region and accelerate the growth of its operations.
A veteran of the renewables industry, Garcia Perez has been Solarpack’s chief development and construction officer since 2022.
“This appointment is part of Solarpack's policy of building an organisational structure with a local focus in each of the regions in which it operates with the aim of adding value to employees, suppliers, communities, investors and other stakeholders, while they benefit from the support capabilities of a global renewable energy company,” Solarpack said in a statement.
Garcia Perez has experience and knowledge of the local market that will allow the company to focus its strategy towards greater attention to customer demands, according to Leo Moreno, Solarpack’s Global CEO.
Solarpack arrived in Latin America in 2010. Since then it has built up a a portfolio of solar, wind and energy storage projects totalling 5.5 GW between Colombia, Peru, Chile and Ecuador, with 621 MW in operation or under construction.
