Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTSpanish renewables developer-operator Solarpack said on Tuesday that it has appointed Sajay K. V. to serve as the CEO of its division in India as it gears up for gigawatt-scale growth in the country.
He will take the helm on January 2.
Before joining Solarpack, Sajay filled the CEO position at BrightNight Power India. His background includes serving as a high-level executive at Hero Future Energies, Siemens Gamesa and Vestas.
Over the course of his career, Sajay oversaw the execution of over 7 GW of renewable energy projects in India and Sri Lanka, Solarpack said.
In his new role, Sajay will advance ongoing investments, close power purchase agreements and realise Solarpack’s plan to developer more than 5 GW of new projects in India. This plan will see the Spanish firm branch out into technologies such as wind and energy storage in addition to solar projects it has been known for.
Solarpack has built eight solar farms since arriving in India in 2015.
Sajay K.V said: "It is an honour to lead Solarpack in India's dynamic renewable energy landscape. My goal is to drive existing projects such as Gorbea and Anboto, with 800 MW in total, and to execute our ambitious plan to develop 5 GW of multi-technology products. Together we will contribute to India's renewable goals and shape Solarpack's influential role in a cleaner, greener future”.
