Spanish bank Unicaja Banco SA (BME:UNI) has issued a five-year senior preferred senior green bond worth EUR 300 million (USD 331.6m), allocating the proceeds to financing renewable energy projects, among others.

The price for the bond was set at 105 basis points over midswap, which is 35 basis points lower than the initial offering. The demand exceeded EUR 1.2 billion, the bank said on Tuesday.

BBVA, BofA Securities, Natixis, and Societe Generale were responsible for the placement of the bond, with over 90 institutional investors from Europe, Asia, and America participating.

This is the fourth green bond issued by Unicaja since 2022, and the funds raised in this issuance will be used to finance renewable energy projects and residential mortgages, Unicaja said.
