Spanish solar self-consumption specialist EiDF (BME:EIDF) said on Tuesday it has received permits to begin construction of two 4.8-MWp solar photovoltaic plants in the region of Navarre, northern Spain.

One of the “twins” will be located in the town of Galar and consist of 8,904 solar modules covering 9.33 hectares (23.1 acres). The second solar plant will be situated in Abaigar and Murieta and have 8,960 modules installed on an 8-hectare site.

EiDF said that it has four other projects in advanced stages of permitting and construction, totalling 36 MWp. All of these projects are part of the company's 2.8-GW pipeline, which it plans to realise by 2028 in line with its business plan to build and own utility-scale solar and achieve vertical integration.

Having own power generation facilities is the main pillar of EiDF’s business plan, according to Lucia Lampon, Director of Operations at EiDF.

“As a company, we are at a great moment of growth, strengthening our position in the construction of generation parks and as a leader in self-consumption photovoltaic installations at national level,” Lampon said.

Additionally, EiDF recently obtained permits to build a 50-MWp solar form in La Robla, Leon province, which will begin construction in early 2025.
