The Dominican Republic’s energy commission CNE has signed an agreement that grants a definitive concession to renewables sponsor Energia Renovable BAS SRL to build the 50-MW/73.2-MWp Washington Capital Solar Park 3.

The firm will invest USD 80 million (EUR 76.7m) in the project, and start construction shortly, its manager Emilio Jose Martinez said in CNE's press release on Thursday.

The concession was granted for a period of 25 years, according to a document in CNE's archive.

The solar farm site is located in the municipality San Antonio de Guerra, San Cristobal province.

Energia Renovable BAS is an affiliate of California-based private equity fund Washington Capital Global Finance, which has been present in the Dominican market for over a decade.
