Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTSri Lanka’s Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) is looking for companies to install, own and operate 10 MWp of photovoltaic (PV) capacity in the island country.
The Request for Proposals (RfPs) was launched on Wednesday. The proposed Polonnaruwa project will be developed on a build, own, operate basis at Polonnaruwa district, in Sri Lanka’s North Central Province.
The winner in the international competitive bidding (ICB) process will have to use land within a specified block of 50 acres (20.2 ha) to construction the PV plant. It will also be in charge of building a 33-kV power transmission line and all related equipment.
The government of Sri Lanka aims to have 200 MW of solar capacity by 2020 and 1,000 MW by 2025 under its programme for promoting solar power called Soorya Bala Sangramaya, or Battle for Solar Energy.
