Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTThe Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) is seeking contractors for the development and construction of a 100-MW solar park project in Sri Lanka’s Uva province.
Through a tender launched last week, the regulator aims to select a developer to install the capacity on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis, with the scope of work including design, financing, supply, construction, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance. In addition to the photovoltaic (PV) park the tender covers the construction of a 132-kV transmission line.
Interested parties will be able to submit their bids by October 21. According to the tender notice, the proposals will be opened immediately after the end of the submission deadline.
The solar farm is planned to be installed on leased land located in the Siyambalanduwa division of Moneragala District. Once in operation, it will be run through a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with CEB.
Under its 2019-2025 renewable energy development programme, Sri Lanka aims to add 1.5 GW of solar PV capacity by end-2025, of which 1 GW will come from large-scale projects.
