US developer Standard Solar has acquired the Knox Solar + Storage project in Acton, Massachusetts, which includes 1.5 MW of solar power generating capacity and 2 MWh of battery storage, from developer EDF Renewables North America.

The project is designed to generate about 1,872 MWh of clean energy annually, enough to meet the needs of nearly 200 local homes. It will directly supply the Acton Water District’s microfiltration treatment plant, its largest electrical load, a press release said on Tuesday.

The value of the investment was not disclosed.

Knox Solar + Storage is the second solar system owned and operated by Standard Solar that serves the Acton Water District. The company’s other asset is the 4.7-MW Lawsbrook solar installation with 4 MWh of storage, which was again developed by EDF Renewables.

Standard Solar currently owns and operates nearly 20 MW of clean power in Massachusetts and 300 MW of commercial and community solar projects across the US.
