Norwegian state-owned power company Statkraft AS has closed the acquisition of a project portfolio in Croatia from French renewables firm Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) after securing all regulatory approvals.

The portfolio consists of early-stage projects across wind, solar and battery energy storage technologies, Statkraft Croatia said on Thursday, without disclosing financial and other details. Three developers from Neoen have joined Statkraft’s team in Croatia’s capital Zagreb.

“Although this acquisition is smaller in scale, it fits well with our current position in the market,” said Arnaud Bellanger, Statkraft's director for Croatia and France.

Statkraft started operations in Croatia in 2021.
