US utility holding Avangrid Inc (NYSE:AGR) and Norway’s Statkraft AS have signed their signed their second short-term virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) in the United States this year, this time for the flow of electricity from a 35-MW wind farm in Pennsylvania.

Under the terms, the Norwegian state-owned power company will purchase electricity from Avangrid’s Casselman wind farm, located some 60 miles (96.6 km) southeast of Pittsburgh, the pair said in a joint statement on Thursday, without disclosing the duration of the contract.

This follows a similar short-term VPPA for Avangrid’s 300-MW Streator Cayuga Ridge South wind farm in Illinois signed earlier this year.

The 35-MW Casselman features 23 wind turbines installed on top of and near a rehabilitated surface mine in Somerset County. The wind farm reached commercial operation in 2007.

The relationship between the two companies stretches from across the pond. Statkraft also off-takes electricity from the Korytnica II wind farm in Poland, owned by Avangrid’s Spanish parent Iberdrola SA (BME:IBE).
