ABP presents plan to turn Port of Barrow into renewables hub
Sep 18, 2024 14:41 CESTDec 11, 2012 - Norwegian utility Statkraft AS said today it had started building its second wind farm in Scotland, a 66.7-MW project, slated for completion by early 2014.
The Berry Burn wind farm will consist of 29 wind turbines of 2.3 MW each from German producer Enercon. It will require an investment of GBP 70 million (USD 112.6m/EUR 86.8m) from Statkraft during the construction phase.
The facility, to be located some 30 km (18.6 miles) east of Inverness, will have an annual power output of some 184 GWh.
The project was initially developed by Statkraft in cooperation with US Duke Energy Corp (NYSE:DUK) but after acquiring the latter's interest, the Norwegian company now controls 100% of the project company, Catamount Energy Ltd.
