Norway’s Statkraft A/S on Wednesday announced that it has signed a ten-year power purchase agreement (PPA) to supply renewable energy to Finnish diversified conglomerate Wihuri Group.

Over those ten years, the Norwegian state-owned power company will supply a total of 438 GWh of clean electricity for Wihuri’s operations. Guarantees of origin will certify that the contracted power comes from renewable sources.

The delivery is structured as a long-term baseload PPA, which provides Wihuri with both predictability and price stability, Statkraft said.

The company is due to begin the supply in January 2027.

Wihuri Group runs four business divisions -- packaging, daily goods wholesale, technical trade, and aviation. It has set targets to increase the use of renewable energy, especially in the packaging business, according to Statkraft.
