Germany's Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTG) has arranged for all of its production sites in Germany to be powered entirely by renewable energy with the signing of a number of power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Norwegian power company Statkraft AS.

The contracted power will be sourced from three solar parks in Bavaria and 14 wind farms that have run out of subsidies, as well as a new wind farm in Lower Saxony. The supply volume is equivalent to the energy needs of more than 215,000 households with an average annual consumption of 3,500 kWh.

The long-term contracts have different starting dates. Daimler Truck’s energy supplier, Enovos, will be in charge of the entire energy management process, including physical delivery, balancing group management, billing, grid usage, consumption forecasting and hedging, according to a statement released on Wednesday.
