Stuttgart's municipal utility, Hep to develop 200 MWp of solar projects hep solar and Stadtwerke Stuttgart signed a cooperation agreement

German solar specialist hep global GmbH, operating under the hep solar brand, has teamed up with municipal utility Stadtwerke Stuttgart to develop solar projects with a total capacity of up to 200 MWp.

The planned facilities will be located near Stuttgart, helping the city to achieve its goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2035.

Under the collaboration announced on Monday, hep solar will be responsible for project development, while Stadtwerke Stuttgart will take care of the financing, electricity marketing and operation of the solar parks.

The solar systems will save up to 88,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. The estimated electricity production should meet the needs of about 65,000 average German households.

Based in Gueglingen, hep solar develops, builds, operates and finances solar parks across the world with a focus on Germany, Japan and North America. In Germany alone, the firm has a pipeline of 90 projects with a total capacity of around 1 GWp.
