World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTNov 7, 2013 - Sudan is interested in partnership with Brazil's southeastern Sao Paulo state for renewable energy development, it became clear after a Sudanese government delegation visited the state earlier this week.
At present, renewable energy sources account for 5.5% of Sao Paulo's electricity mix. Of them, 33.5% are sugar cane bagasse-based energy projects.
During the Sudanese visit to Sao Paulo, the state's energy secretary, Jose Anibal, proposed the African country a partnership for exchange of know how and technology for power generation from sugar cane.
The Sudanese mission included the country's ambassador to Brazil, Abd Elghani El Karim, the vice-president of Sudan's Central Bank, Badreldim Mahmoud Abbas Mokhtar, representatives of other Sudanese banks and representatives of the Arab-Brazilian chamber of commerce.
